Options: 1 position = FTE 0.4 HT / 0.4 CC / 0.2 Teaching until Oct 08, then 0.4 HT / 0.6 Teaching

2 positions = FTE 0.4 HT / 0.6 Teaching (12 months) + 1 FTE 0.4 CC / 0.6 Teaching (until 0ct 08)
The incumbent Head Teacher of Embassy CES will be departing on maternity leave as of 24 April 08. As such, Embassy will require a suitably qualified, experienced and motivated Head Teacher/Course Co-ordinator.
The Course Co-ordinator component of the role ends in Oct 08 when the TELP Co-ordinator returns from maternity leave.
The HT/CC will be responsible for key operational, academic and customer service duties, including conducting new student orientations, class allocations, timetabling/room allocations, course management (General English and Academic Year Abroad), staff and student liaison and curriculum development. The HT/CC will work closely with the DoS in achieving key performance indicators, maintaining satisfactory NEAS, EA and state accreditation, and in the recruitment of staff. The HT/CC will be Acting DoS during any DoS absence.
Qualifications & Experience
HT/CC maternity leave role:
NEAS ELICOS teacher qualifications, plus 5 years experience. Previous experience in senior roles essential. Experience in IELTS, Learning Technologies, EAP and/or high school preparation an advantage. Postgraduate TESOL qualifications highly regarded.
Compensation
HT/CC position is based on Embassy CES Certified Agreement step level + Head Teacher increment of $3236 and Course Co-ordinator increment of $2000 (NB Course Co-ordinator role and allowance until Oct 08). NB these figures are subject to changes as part of the new certified agreement (with no disadvantage).
