SPORTS IN BOSTON
Lovers of sporting events have lots of opportunities to watch live, professional sports teams in Boston:
- cheer on the world champion Boston Red Sox baseball team at Fenway Park
- watch the skills of the Boston Celtics basketball team
- experience ice hockey with the Boston Bruins
EVENTS AND ACTIVITIES
The College sponsors annual events, such as:

ATHLETICS & RECREATION ACTIVITIES
At Fisher College you will be encouraged to participate in teams, clubs and organizations, giving you the chance to gain organizational experience, and space to explore your talents, while getting involved in the student community.
Student clubs and organizations
While these activities vary each semester depending on student interest, some of the clubs and organizations that have recently been active at Fisher College include:
- Drama Club - works to promote the arts through a variety of theatrical performances each year.
- Multicultural Club - works to increase awareness of the great diversity on the Fisher College campus, with weekly discussion meetings, sponsors programs, events and more.
- American Marketing Association (AMA) - plans activities, trips, social events, and guest speaker appearances that are of interest to business and management majors.
- Black and Latino Student Alliance - a social and political organization which focuses on the unique needs of Black and Hispanic students on campus.
- The Charles Viewer - a yearly publication of poetry, fiction, nonfiction, photography, and art by Fisher College students.
- The Common Good Club - impacts their neighborhoods and world in positive ways, through service to both the local (e.g., through working in a soup kitchen) and the global (e.g., through participating in students against genocide) communities.
- Commuter Student Association - facilitates social connections and giving commuters an effective voice in the Student Government Association and in the College.
- Dance Club - learn various dance techniques throughout regular practices.
- Phi Theta Kappa - an international honor society whose goal is "to promote the scholastic achievement and leadership development of outstanding two-year college students."
- Spectrum - support and encourage diversity of all kinds in our membership and leadership and encourage campus-wide participation in our events.
- Student Government Association - an organization built upon a foundation of encouraging student involvement, advocacy, and leadership.
Athletics
Fisher College offers six varsity sports for intercollegiate competition, all affiliated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Division II as part of the Sunrise Conference:
- Baseball
- Men's Basketball
- Women's Basketball
- Softball
- Men's Soccer
- Women's Soccer
Fisher also began a cheerleading squad in fall 2009.
Fisher athletics teams are called 'The Falcons'. The College's dynamic athletics program earns accolades year after year for sportsmanship and success:
- The Men's Basketball team are the reigning champions of the Sunrise Conference. The team has won four of their last five conference championships and was nationally ranked at different times during the 2008-2009 season
- Fisher College Baseball won the Sunrise Conference Championship for the fifth consecutive season
- The Women's Basketball team reached the final 4 in the Sunrise Conference in the 2008-09 season
Sport for recreation and fitness
For students who want to play sport at a less competitive level, or just for fun, Fisher College also offers a variety of intramural sports and activities based upon student interest. You can also benefit from a discount on membership in a local health club.
