Main tourist sights
Beacon Hill
Elegant buildings, gas-lamps, cobblestone streets and a calm atmosphere, make Beacon Hill a pleasant neighborhood to explore. There is a famous bar located in Beacon Hill that was used for a very popular American television show called Cheers.
Harbor cruises
Harbor cruises are a way to learn about Boston's maritime history, or to get cool sea breezes on a hot summer day. There are numerous options: whale watching, sightseeing tour, constitution cruise, sunset cruise, dinner cruise, Sunday-brunch, comedy cruises, and square-rigged sailing ships.
Freedom Trail
Boston played a critical role in the American Revolution, from the Boston Massacre to the Boston Tea Party. The Freedom Trail is a 2.5-mile walk that links 16 nationally significant historic sites - museums, churches, meeting houses, burying grounds, parks, a ship, and historic markers that tell the story of the American Revolution and beyond.
Quincy Market
In the heart of Boston, Faneuil Hall Marketplace, is known to most as Quincy Market. It is a large "festival market": a fun place with street comedians, musicians, food stalls, and restaurants. Large entertainment events are held throughout the year, and is is home Boston's largest comedy venue.

Boston has some of the finest and most numerous museums and galleries in the country.
Museum of Fine Arts
Don't miss one of the largest museums in the United States: the Museum of Fine Arts has one of the most comprehensive art collections in America. Its 450,000 works of art attract over one million visitors a year.
CITI Performing Arts Center
Consisting of two theaters, the Wang Theatre and the Shubert Theatre, the Center serves as a venue for world class touring companies that present Broadway, theater, music, dance, and opera. The Center has partnerships with the Boston Ballet, Boston Lyric Opera, Celebrity Series of Boston and Commonwealth Shakespeare.
Boston Museum of Science
The Museum of Science (MoS) has over 500 interactive exhibits, daily live presentations, a Planetarium, IMAX theater, 3D cinema, Theater of Electricity, Discovery Center and Simulator experience.
Institute of Contemporary Art
With exhibits of local, national and international significance, as well as a film series and gallery talks, the museum provides public access to contemporary art, artists, and the creative process.
Shopping
Harvard Square
Harvard Square, next to Harvard University, is the place in the Boston to buy books and watch people. Explore hundreds of bookstores, unique shops, museums and restaurants by wandering the square's historic red brick walkways.
Newbury Street
Boston's chic, tree-lined shopping street, consists of eight blocks of expensive boutiques, salons and galleries, in elegant brownstone buildings. There are many outdoor cafes and fine dining options. Newbury Street is in the same neighborhood as Fisher College.
Copley Place
A large upscale indoor mall, home to designer brands, 75 stores, two levels of shopping, restaurants, and two hotels.
Entertainment and events
Boston Pops outdoor concerts
The Boston Pops is an orchestra plays light classical and popular music. They are subsection of the Boston Symphony Orchestra. The Boston Pops performs a summer season of popular music, outdoors on the Boston Esplanade.
Earth Day
For over 40 years, the annual Earth Day at the end of April inspires awareness and appreciation for the Earth's natural environment. In Boston, celebrations have included fun activities at museums, a free outdoor pop music concert, awards ceremonies, and a community river clean-up.
Fourth of July celebrations
The Boston Fireworks Spectacular is known as the premier Independence Day celebration in the USA. Hundreds of thousands of people come from all over the country to the banks of the Charles River to celebrate. A concert and fly-over follow the fireworks.
First Night activities
First Night is a New Year celebration of the arts and community in Boston. The family festival presents performers and visual artists, colossal ice sculptures, a Mardi Gras style procession, a fireworks display, and exhibitions.
Night life
Cafes, theaters, the Comedy Connection, as well as dance and music clubs on Lansdowne Street will keep you occupied after dark.
