"Boston is a traditional and beautiful city. There are many old buildings and wonderful parks. The scenery is very good, and the city is near the beach and several rivers, so people can rest easily. The people are very kind and friendly. Boston is a really good place to live. Fisher College is a very good school for me. It is located on near downtown Boston and a park. All the teachers are nice. If I have questions, they always answer my questions in a friendly way."

Boston - a world class city

One of America's oldest cities (founded in 1630), history is around you everywhere in Boston, and it has a European feel. From museums to professional sports, from fresh seafood to Italian cuisine, Boston has something for everyone.

History comes alive
Boston is known as the "The Cradle of Liberty" because it played a large role in the American Revolution. Walk the streets of Boston and history is around you everywhere. Be sure to explore the Freedom Trail linking key revolutionary sites in downtown Boston.

Sports
Boston is a dynamic sports hub as well, with professional teams representing all four major sports: Boston Red Sox (baseball), New England Patriots (American football), Boston Bruins (hockey), and Boston Celtics (basketball). There is also the world-famous Boston Marathon and the annual Head of the Charles Regatta.

Culture and cuisine
While in Boston, you can see a Broadway-bound show at the theatre, listen to the world-famous Boston Symphony Orchestra, visit the many museums and galleries, and sample cuisine from around the world.

Exploring Boston
Like many European cities, Boston is best explored on foot. You can walk the Freedom Trail, wander in the Public Garden, and browse the bookshops and other stores of Harvard Square.

The New England Region

Boston is the unofficial capital of New England - a region of the United States located in the northeastern corner of the country. The states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut make up the New England region.

Higher Education prestige
New England contains some of the oldest and most renowned universities in America, and four out of the eight Ivy League institutions are in New England.

Liberal and cultural aspect
New England maintains a role of historical, cultural, and political importance in the United States. It is known for a unique mixture of individualism and liberalism and is the least religious part of the country today.

Scenic surroundings
If you want to get out of the city, New England offers endless possibilities: The Appalachian Mountains offer excellent skiing in winter; Cape Cod and Martha's Vineyard are popular tourist destinations with ocean beaches and small-town charm; the countryside in the New England region is famous for its glorious fall (autumn) display when the leaves on the trees turn to bright colors.
