ACCOMMODATION AND DINING AT FISHER COLLEGE
You will live in a Fisher College residence hall, at the center of the College community, ready for both academic and co-curricular activities:
- See the cost of accommodation for Foundation Diploma students
- Accommodation is part of the all-inclusive fee for degree students.
Approximately 300 students make their homes in one of four residence halls. Modern amenities make the halls a comfortable place to study, relax, or just hang out with your friends.
Professional staff and student leaders live and work in each residence hall. Recreational activities, leadership opportunities, referrals to support services, and a listening ear are just a few benefits of living on campus.
Residence hall location
Fisher College's four residence halls are located on quaint Boston city streets near Fisher College, and just around the corner from Boston Common. The turn-of-the-century residence halls are in 1900's "brownstone" townhouses and provide an elegant yet comfortable home.
Residence hall options
Fisher College residence halls each house 50 to 70 students, and have a mixture of single rooms, doubles, triples and some quads:
- Sarah Mortimer Hall - a 7-floor co-educational (mixed male and female floors, but single sex rooms and bathrooms) environment that supports the academic success of its residents with 24-Hour Quiet Floors, and a Health/Wellness living community.
- Robert Smith Hall - two 5-floor co-educational residence hall buildings
- Edmund Florence Hall - three co-educational residence hall buildings
- Carty Hall - two 5-floor 24-Hour Quiet residence buildings that offer a single sex living environment.
Quiet buildings
If a tranquil atmosphere is important while you study, you might prefer living in one of the 24 hour quiet buildings. Twenty-four hours a day, all noise (such as music, television or talking) must be contained within your room. Consideration for fellow residents is the secret to the Quiet buildings success - and the foundation for the strong sense of community that inevitably develops in this building.
Internet access in residences
You may bring your computer with you to Fisher College - all residence halls have network connections available in each room. The use of anti-virus software is required and the IT department will inspect your computer before it can be hooked up to the network. If you don't have a computer, there are computer labs located throughout campus which provide you with access to the internet.
