LIBRARY OPENING TIMES

Fisher College Library is open during the following hours:

Monday-Thursday: 8am - 10pm
Friday: 8am - 4pm
Saturday: 12 noon - 8pm
Sunday: 2pm - 10pm

Hours are subject to change and may vary during the summer, College vacations, and holidays. Library hours are extended until 11pm during examination periods.

Library services

The Library provides resources designed to support the curriculum, promote independent research, intellectual curiosity and cultural appreciation, and to engage students in the learning process. The library is staffed by professional librarians who provide an atmosphere conducive to learning, research, and personal development.

  • online journal databases, with full-text articles in subjects including Business, Communication & Media Studies,  Computer Information & Systems, Current Events & Issues, Health & Science, and Legal Study

Interlibrary loans
Fisher College Library is a member of New England Library Network, the Metro-Boston Library Network and participates in a regional/national system of interlibrary loan. These networks include Boston Public Library, and provides you with access to millions of library items that are delivered regularly on request.

Museum passes
The Fisher College Library offers a subscription to the three Harvard Art Museums for students to use! Two passes circulate for each day of the week.


Computing Services

Computer labs
The College maintains computers and laser printers for student use in the library, the Academic Center for Enrichment and two computer labs. The computers are installed with Microsoft XP Professional, Microsoft Office, and Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer web browsers. All of the campus computers have Internet access.

Residence halls
Internet access is provided to students living in residence halls. You need to provide your own laptop or desktop computer, software, Ethernet Network Interface Card, and CAT5e cable . Fisher College uses a standard TCP\IP network with hard-wired connections in each room so nearly all personal computers will be compatible.

Wireless Hotspots
There are wireless hotspots across campus, located in the Library, Academic Center for Excellence (ACE), Alumni Hall, Commuter Lounge and the Cafeteria. The student wireless network is an open, unsecured, wireless network service. 

Email & network accounts
On enrollment, you will be given both an email and network account. User names, passwords and connection details will be distributed at your orientation.
