In order to progress to the degree programme you will need to obtain an overall grade at the end of your course, and a minimum English grade on the final English Skills module.



MSc Construction Project Management

This course produces qualified project managers of the quality required by the UK and global construction industries, both in terms of their immediate ability to perform and their longer-term strategic potential. The course allows architects, engineers and other professionals to move into project management.

The course has a long pedigree and is now one of the largest MSc Construction Management (Project Management) programmes in the UK in terms of student numbers. The course team continues to develop its strong links with the construction industry and employer feedback is central to the course development process. The course is approved by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

The employment success rate on completion is very high, and subsequent opportunities for career progression are good.

MSc Facilities Management

The facilities management (FM) role continues to grow world-wide by establishing itself as the source of strategic management for the coordination of support facilities and modern business processes. The immense diversity and career opportunities this affords are reflected in the structure and content of this MSc course, and our student profile. The course produces qualified facilities managers of the quality required by the UK and global FM industry, both in terms of their immediate ability to perform and their longer-term strategic potential. The course modules cater for the wide-ranging needs of facilities managers, from fulfilling the operational functions of asset maintenance management to supporting the development of strategic facilities management for business advantage.

The MSc is accredited by the British Institute of Facilities Management (BIFM). Graduates of the course are exempt from the knowledge component of the BIFM qualification. The MSc is also approved by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). Graduates of the course are eligible for entry to the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence.

MSc Real Estate Management and Development

This new course has been developed as a result of market trends. The course is for high quality graduates from a range of first degree disciplines related to real estate, planning and housing development who wish to develop their career in the relevant field with a view to gaining entry to the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

This course is accredited by the RICS. Graduates of the course are eligible for entry to the RICS Assessment of Professional Competence and can then proceed to complete the two-year professional diary period and final assessment.

The course content is focused on ensuring that graduates achieve the key competencies in terms of knowledge and skills required by the RICS. It is expected that students on this programme will be employed within a suitable professional work environment whilst undertaking their studies.

MSc Urban Regeneration

This course has been developed as a response to the need to enhance the knowledge and skills required for successful regeneration. The recent Social Justice, Neighbourhood Renewal and Urban Renaissance reports have all highlighted the need to improve skills to address social problems. The course draws upon expertise in social policy, planning for communities, design and development knowledge.

Aimed at prospective students wishing to work in the area of urban regeneration or who are already employed in urban regeneration initiatives, it provides knowledge of the factors affecting urban regeneration and develops skills in developing and evaluating initiatives that promote sustainable neighbourhoods.

MSc Real Estate Investment and Finance

Professionals working in the investment property market face many challenges. Increasing globalisation of the property market, rapid developments in research tools and business practice, new competition and the development of alternatives to direct property investment all add new dimensions to the role.

This course provides property professionals with the skills and knowledge needed to work effectively in the investment property market and to compete with other investment professionals. The course takes an international perspective reflecting the globalisation of property.
