Pass marks for progression to your degree

Upon successful completion of the Undergraduate Certificate or Pre-Masters programme, you can proceed directly to your degree at Heriot-Watt University that autumn.

In order to progress to the degree programme you will need to obtain an overall grade at the end of your course, and a minimum English grade on the final English Skills module. Note that an English competence level of 65% is equivalent to 6.5 IELTS.

The tables below set out the minimum pass marks required for progression onto each applicable degree course:

• Undergraduate progression grades
  The Masters courses listed in this section (MA, MEng, MChem, MPhys) are 4-year or 5-year undergraduate degrees
  
  
• Postgraduate progression grades
  The Masters courses listed in this section (MSc) are 1-year taught postgraduate degrees
