English Language Preparation

This course is designed to improve your English language skills to the required level for ISC academic courses.

If you require additional language training before you start your academic programme you can first join this English Language Preparation (ELP) course. The length of your ELP course depends on your level of English Language proficiency (see study plan options below).

You will need to have achieved IELTS 4.5 in order to begin the International Foundation Year.  IELTS 5.0 is required to begin the International Diploma or Pre-Master's course (and an IELTS score of 5.5 for the two term Pre-Master's course)

If you don’t have a current IELTS grade, you may still apply to the ISC. Please contact us to find out about alternative assessment of your English language level.

All students' English and numeracy skills will be tested on arrival, and study plans may be altered accordingly. (This may cause additional costs).

The table below shows the duration of ELP and academic study preceding a degree, based upon your initial IELTS score. The lower your IELTS score the longer study time necessary.
