The International Study Centre
The International Study Centre (ISC) offers degree preparation courses for international students who do not yet meet the University's direct entry requirements. Soon after you join, teachers help you nominate a degree that you want to do after your preparation course. Once you have successfully completed the programme, meeting the required entry grades, you will move onto your degree.
Prepare for your degree at Huddersfield
As an ISC student, you will be part of the University from the day you start your course. The ISC is located in the Brunswick Building, at the heart of the main campus where you can mix and enjoy the same facilities as any other students at the University. The ISC has dedicated facilities - classrooms, computing facilities and a resource area for ISC students only, but you will also have access to the main University library, computing and laboratory facilities.
Assured progression to your degree
Joining the International Study Centre guarantees that you will receive a conditional offer of a degree place at the University. Once you have successfully completed the academic programme and have met the required entry grades, you will proceed directly to your degree. Degree preparation courses lead to a wide range of undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at Huddersfield University.
Personal monitoring and support
You will be taught by specialists in university preparation. Your progress will be monitored at all times to make sure you remain on track to successfully complete the course. You will also benefit from regular assessment through examination and marked coursework.
Links with University lecturers
Your Link Tutor, who is also a lecturer at Huddersfield, will help you to understand your degree choices and answer your questions about studying on a University programme. You will be able to get a real idea of what your degree programme will involve through tours of the school, invitations to workshops and lectures, and talking to students already on a degree.
