Payment information

When are the fees payable?
To accept your JMU place, we require a deposit of $500 for release of your I-20 immigration document. Payment in full for the Fall semester is due July 1st. Payment in full for the Spring semester is due November 1st. Payment in full for the Summer semester is due April 1st.

Do I have to pay all the fees at once?
No. Students may choose to pay for the full year, or to pay by semester to spread the cost of a university program over a longer period.

Do I have to pay fees in advance?
Yes. All students are required to pay the entire invoiced amount for each semester in full and in advance of each semester start date. See the due dates above.

How can fees be paid?

Do I get a refund if I cancel my place?
If you do not meet visa entry requirements, a full refund will be given. Otherwise, a cancellation fee is charged. Read our Terms and Conditions.

International First Year and Pre-Master's program fees

The James Madison University degree pathway programs are exceptional value.

Fees for the International First Year or Pre-Master's Program (valid for entry in August 2012) are listed below.

  • When you progress to a degree program, you pay the Out-of-State James Madison University fees.
  • Prices are likely to rise each academic year, and are subject to change.
  • All prices are in United States Dollars (USD).
