Foundation Diploma

The Foundation Diploma is a unique pathway to the Second Year of undergraduate degrees for High School graduates who achieve top grades in their countries but not meeting Keele's undergraduate entrance requirements. In four terms, the Foundation Diploma covers academic subjects, study skills and English language training to provide international students with the skills and knowledge needed for degree study at Keele University. An IELTS level of 5.0 is required for this programme.

The Diploma is similar to the Foundation Diploma but comes as a three-term programme designed for High School graduates with very high grades and strong English language skills from their home countries but not yet meeting direct enty requirements for Keele University degrees. This course is for students with an advanced understanding of the academic subjects, and an IELTS level of 5.5 and above. The entry point for the Diploma is January.

Save time and tuition fees

Keele's undergraduate degrees are three years in length, so Foundation Diploma and Diploma students need only complete two more years of study before graduating, saving both time and tuition fees.

Assured progression to BA/BSc degrees at 2nd Year level

The fast-track Diplomas give you access to a wide range of degrees at Second Year level in fields such as Accounting, Business Management, Computer Science, Economics, Finance, International Relations, IT, and Politics among others.

University-style teaching

The Foundation Diploma is validated by Keele University and taught by specialists in university preparation. You will be introduced to the style of teaching that you will experience when you progress onto your degree. Teaching is in tutorials, seminar style classes and larger group lectures.

Assessment

You will be assessed regularly throughout the course to ensure that you achieve the grades required for progression onto your chosen degree. Your development is monitored through continuous coursework and specific assessments at the end of each term or module.
