Preparing for undergraduate study

For international students who do not meet the entry requirements for an undergraduate degree at Kingston, the International Study Centre offers:

The International Foundation Year

Rigorous and academically demanding three-term programme of academic subjects, study skills and English language training
Designed specifically to provide international students with an intensive, direct path to degree study at the University.
A choice of six routes:
Modular structure with four core modules common to each route and six subject-specific modules
Regular assessment to ensure students achieve required standards for progression to degree of choice
Requires good high school graduation grades or equivalent and an IELTS 4.5 (with 5.0 in writing)

Rigorous and academically focused three-term programme
Designed to provide international students with the skills and knowledge to succeed on the Art & Design foundation and degree courses at the University.
60% of study time dedicated to progressing portfolio to a level where you will be guaranteed a place on either the Art & Design Foundation Studies Course or a BA(Hons) course of your choice.
40% of study time dedicated to learning English language to an IELTS level of 5.5 or equivalent

There will be two Merit Scholarships for undergraduate studies awarded by Kingston University.

The award will be made at the end of the International Foundation Year.
