The International Foundation Year offers the option of five subject routes depending on the degree you want to study:
After students successfully complete the International Foundation Year they will recieve a conditional offer of a place on their chosen degree at Kingston University.

What is the structure of the Foundation course?
The course is 3 terms in duration and is modular in structure. You will study four or five core subjects (e.g. English and Study Skills) and five to eight specific subject modules which vary depending on your foundation route. For most routes, you will study three of these modules in term 1, three in term 2 and four in the final term. (Each term is between 9 and 11 weeks).
How many hours week will I study?
Study is for 36 hours per week, including 16 hours of class contact time (lecture and seminar style) and a minimum of 20 hours per week made up of small group seminar work and directed self-study.
How will I be assessed?
Student are regularly assessed to ensure they are achieving the required standards for progression to their degree of choice. Assessments include:
- Course work
- Unseen written examinations
- Extended essays and case studies
- Individual and group presentations.
Entry requirements
Academic:
Good high school graduation grades (see country specific entry requirements).
English language:
- IELTS: 4.5 (5.0 in Writing)
- TOEFL (Internet-based test)
Listening: 16; Reading: 13; Speaking: 20; Writing: 19
- TOEFL (Computer-based test): 153
- Pearson Test of English: 41 (46 in Writing)

There will be two Merit Scholarships for undergraduate studies awarded by Kingston University.
The award will be made at the end of the International Foundation Year.
