Sports and leisure facilities at Kingston University
Kingston University has a wide range of student groups and associations to enjoy in your spare time as well as help you settle into university life. These are run by the Kingston University Student Union (KUSU). They organise and provide everything you could possibly want. They support and help you. They give you the opportunity to get involved. Everything they do is run by students for students.
Getting involved
At present, KUSU has over 50 active societies who come together to share their interests - these might be social activities, a country of origin or a religion - although you can set up a society for just about anything! They are becoming an increasingly important aspect of campus culture. Current societies include Arabic, Dance, Debating, International Students, Islamic Society and KU:MUSIC.
Entertainment
Each campus has an area for students to socialise and relax as well as meet other students.
- The Space - KUSU's largest social venue has a bright, comfortable and friendly atmosphere. It is located next door to the Student shop, on the University’s busiest campus at Penryhn Road.
- Hannafords - Located on the Kingston Hill Campus, it has recently been refurbished with plasma screens. As well as being an entertainment venue, Hannafords is also home to one of the Union's two Subway sandwich bars.
Sports facilities
The Tolworth Court Sports Ground is home to Kingston University's excellent outdoor sports facilities including football pitches, rugby pitches, netball courts and tennis courts.
The University also has a fitness centre located on the Penryhn Road campus. Students can get discounted membership for use of the gym, dance and aerobic classes and fitness services.
There are also many student sports clubs including tennis, basketball, American football, Football, Mountaineering and Taekwondo.

"There is always something engaging going on to keep you occupied. Between the clubs / societies, special events and lectures put on by the university and the activities organised by the International Office and the International Student’s Club, there is always something to do."
Sundeep Sareen, India (Management in Construction MSc, Engineering)
"Penrhyn Road campus has a really buzzing atmosphere, with an excellent library, gym and shop, and it is only walking distance from town. The new John Galsworthy building adds more life to the campus and provides students with excellent modern facilities."
