Sport plays a prominent role in life at Lancaster and the opportunities to take up a sport are excellent.
Sport Centre
The University Sports Centre is conveniently located on campus. See a 360 degree panorama of the Fitness Room in the Sports Centre.
Inter-College Sport
Inter-college sport is one of the great sources of college loyalty. Played in a spirit of friendly competition, it could not exist without the colleges. So whether you’re a sporting superstar or just want some fun, you can still take part in college sports. Covering a vast range of sports, colleges select teams to compete for the Carter Shield. Specific tournaments for football, netball and bar sports are added together with results from one-day competitions in almost every sport imaginable.
Athletic Union
The Athletic Union (AU) is part of the Students' Union. The AU provides a wide and diverse opportunity to cater for most people’s sporting needs. Its role is to manage and help support the 30 Athletic Union Clubs that compete for the University in BUSA (British Universities Sport Association) against other university teams.
