Guaranteed accommodation for your whole time at Lancaster

As an international student, you are guaranteed accommodation on campus throughout your course. This includes your time at the International Study Centre assuming we receive your accommodation application by the published deadline.

Students with disabilities

A number of student study-bedrooms have been adapted for students with disabilities. If you need adapted accommodation, let us know. We will try and ensure that you have the accommodation you need.

Accommodation options

As a student on the International Foundation Year you will be allocated accommodation in one of the eight colleges on campus. All colleges have rooms with en suite facilities and there are also some rooms with shared bathrooms.

Accommodation Costs

These prices are a guide for the academic year 2009/10. Room contracts are a standard let of 40 weeks. Price includes heating, lighting and electricity.

  • On-campus accommodation is all self-catering.
  • There is a cleaning service provided for communal areas (kitchens, shared bathrooms, corridors).
  • Kitchens are equipped with a microwave, cooker, fridge and freezer.
  • Laundrette facilities are available on campus.
  • Each room contains a bed, desk chair, wardrobe and shelving.
  • Some rooms have built-in TV points but assume you will require an aerial if you bring a TV with you (TV licence required).
  • En-suite rooms have private shower and toilet facilities.
  • Standard rooms all have their own washbasin, and bathrooms/shower rooms are shared between 4 to 6 students.
  • All rooms have telephone and computing network points.
