Top-ranking in the University league tables
Leicester is a leading UK University, highly ranked in the league tables: 12th in the UK by the Guardian University Guide, 15th in the UK by the Good University Guide and in the top 20 in the Sunday Times University Guide; and one of just 21 British universities to feature in the world’s top 200 in a study carried out by Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
A First Class University
Described as a "first class university" Leicester is ranked 12th in the UK out of 113 universities by the Guardian University Guide and 15th by the Times Good University Guide 2011.
Leicester is also one of just 21 UK universities to feature in the world's top 200 universities (joint 16th in the UK and 151st in the world in the Shanghai Jiao Tong Table).
Awards
Leicester was named University of the Year by the Times Higher Education awards in 2008/9. The University also won the 2009/10 THE Award for Outstanding Student Support.
Satisfied students
Since the launch of the National Student Survey in 2006, Leicester has consistently featured amongst the top-10 universities in England for student satisfaction. The Sunday Times recently described Leicester as "top... amongst mainstream multi-faculty universities for student satisfaction”.
Leading-edge research
The research conducted by the University has the tenth greatest impact amongst universities in England according to the Guardian (30th October 2007) . Overall the University is ranked 20th for its research out of 130 universities.
