The Science Centre, opened in September 2000, is where the practical classes for the Forensic Science and Biomedical Sciences degree courses take place. It contains 12 laboratories occupying three floors. The labs are equipped with an extensive range of standard and specialised laboratory equipment.

The Forensic Science Foundation Diploma/Diploma is an intensive programme designed for students to progress with English Language and academic subject matter ready for year two entry.

Foundation Diploma students start in September. Term one concentrates on the development of English Language and academic skills ensuring that all students have the ability to move onto the Diploma level modules. This will include an emphasis on skills for scientists and developing necessary mathematical and other science-related competences.

In term two, students will join the Diploma programme, which will provide specialist skills and academic development relating to Forensic Science subject matter. This is done by nurturing an effective knowledge base and helping apply this knowledge in practical situations. The same structure will be used in the following two terms.

Example modules for the Forensic Science route
