Getting to the University of Lincoln by air
Manchester International Airport is just over 90 miles away from the University. When you apply, you can arrange a taxi transfer from Manchester airport (MAN). See the price of airport transfers on the fees page.
You can also get the train to the centre of Lincoln from Manchester Airport. The journey by train takes around three hours.
It is possible to fly to Leeds/Bradford Airport, but there are fewer international flights direct to this airport than Manchester.
If you are flying in to one of the London airports (Gatwick or Heathrow), the journey from London (Kings Cross) to Lincoln is approximately two hours by train.
Getting to the city centre from campus
The campus is conveniently located on the picturesque Brayford Pool waterfront in the heart of the city centre close to shops, bars and restaurants. Lincoln railway station is a short walk away.
Getting around the UK
As Lincoln is located in the north of England, it is an excellent place from which to explore the rest of the UK.
By rail: Lincoln has good rail links with the rest of the UK. London can be reached in around two hours, Edinburgh, Scotland can be reached in 4.5 hours.
By road: The cities of Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham and Sheffield can all be reached in 1 – 2 hours. Lincoln is also located around 60 miles from the Peak District which includes Britain’s first National Park, and areas of breathtaking landscapes, market towns and cultural heritage.
