The Lincoln School of Engineering is the first purpose-built School of Engineering to be created in the UK for more than 20 years. The relationship provides links with an internationally renowned company which has been established in Lincoln for more than 150 years. Students have the opportunity to apply for sponsorship and work opportunities with Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery (SITL).

University of Lincoln and Siemens
A recent development in 2009 in collaboration with Siemens Industrial Turbomachinery brought a multi-million commitment to support the School investing significantly through scholarships, tuition fees and employment opportunities for undergraduate students.
The collaboration also saw the transfer of research and development equipment to the University as well as co-location of their training team, sponsored research and student numbers.
Meeting the demand for Engineers
The School meets the extensive demand for engineers, not only at Siemens, but across the city, county and region where traditionally large numbers of engineering and related businesses are based.
In Spring 2009, the University of Lincoln was awarded £4.3 million from HEFCE to establish a specialist school focusing strongly on research informed testing.
The new School of Engineering Building
Over £7,000,000 of funding was allocated to the construction of the new building housing the School of Engineering which will be completed in Summer 2011.
Combining state of the art R&D and teaching faciltities, the building will represent the status and intent of Engineering at the University of Lincoln.

The collaboration between Siemens and the School of Engineering has been 'Highly Commended' by the following national and international engineering associations.
