The International Study Centre

Prepare in the best way possible for your degree at Liverpool John Moores University.

The International Study Centre (ISC) offers international and EU students who do not meet direct entry requirements, specialist preparation for a wide range of undergraduate degrees at LJMU. Students at the entrance to the International Study Centre

On the University campus

The International Study Centre is situated in Marybone 2 on the University's City Campus (see a map of the ISC location) you will be able to mix with and enjoy the same facilities as other students. We are also right in the centre of Liverpool, only a short walk from your accommodation and the city's transport links.

Access to University facilities

The International Study Centre at LJMU has dedicated facilities for your course. There are classrooms, computing facilities and a resource centre, but you will also have access to all the major libraries in Liverpool and specialist teaching, computing and laboratory facilities. Assured progression to your degree

Joining the International Foundation Year guarantees that you will receive a conditional offer of a degree place at the University. Soon after you join, you will be helped to choose the degree programme onto which you want to progress. Once you have successfully completed the course and have met the required entry standards, you will proceed directly to your preferred degree programme.

Personal monitoring and support

The International Study Centre courses are validated by Liverpool John Moores University and taught by specialists in university preparation. Your progress will be monitored at all times to make sure you remain on track to successfully complete the programme. You will also benefit from regular assessment through examination and marked coursework.

Links with University lecturers

Your Link Tutor, who is also a lecturer at LJMU, will help you to understand your degree choices and answer your questions about studying on a University programme. The Link Tutor system broadens your knowledge of what LJMU offers and allows you to engage with University faculty.
