Head of Liverpool John Moores University ISC's welcome message:
"The International Study Centre at Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) is situated in the heart of Liverpool, a vibrant and exciting city. You are assured of a warm welcome from all staff and students here when you join us at the start of your course.
LJMU has a long history that started close to 200 years ago. It has now developed into a modern University offering excellent facilities and equipment for you to use. It is ranked in the top 20 UK Universities for research and enterprise. We offer over 450 courses for you to choose from and have excellent departments in many areas such as business, law, science and engineering. There are over 25,000 students here including 2,000 international students so there will be plenty of opportunity for you to meet many different people.
You will be based here with us at the International Study Centre which is a new centre next to the main campus. The student living accommodation is a few minutes' walk away so everything is on your doorstep. We have a dedicated team of staff who will be here on hand to help you through your first year. Everyone is very friendly and one of our main aims in the first few weeks will be to get you settled and set up ready for your new life here with us in Liverpool. Classes are small so that you can get some individual attention and you will also have a personal tutor who will be on hand to help you throughout the year.
You will be given full access to all the University's library and computing facilities. Liverpool Students' Union provides a range of sporting and recreational activities for all students to get involved in. An important part of your studies will be to get prepared for the 'World Of Work' and LJMU has an excellent programme called WOW that you can access. In partnership with employers and entrepreneurs the, WOW programme will help you develop the skills necessary to succeed in your career.
