Life on the Manhattan College campus

Manhattan College is built on a hill overlooking the Van Cortlandt Park. The area offers the calm and quiet of a residential setting right within the city of New York.

You will enjoy a tranquil 22-acre campus in the beautiful Riverdale section of northern Manhattan. Yet you are only 10 miles - a short subway ride - north of the Empire State Building, and all the excitement New York has to offer: theater, concerts, clubs, museums, Lincoln Center, Greenwich Village, Fifth Avenue, the United Nations etc.

Thomas Hall Student Center

Making friends at Manhattan CollegeThomas Hall is the hub of student life on campus. It houses:

Administrative Offices (5th floor)
The Campus Events Office, the Dean of Students, Office of Residence Life, the Student Activities Office and the Coordinator of Performing Arts Office.

Cafeterias
Dante’s Den (quad level) and Locke's Loft (4th floor).

Club Space
Offices for student clubs and organizations. Players Theater Box, Singers and WRCM Radio Station are on the 5th floor. Student government and  Quadrangle are on the 3rd floor. The Games Club is on the 2nd floor.

The Murray Room (3rd floor)
Ideal for hosting conferences and meetings.

Lounges
2nd floor Television lounge where you may watch the Manhattan College Channel or other outside cable stations; 3rd floor lounge for socializing between classes.

Mailboxes (2nd floor)
Most campus residents retrieve their mail in Thomas Hall.

Phones
Both pay phones and a campus phone for your convenience.

Plato's Annex, Cave & Patio (2nd floor)
Areas for guest speakers, workshops, socials, dance parties, and barbecues.

Smith Auditorium
Venue for large events.

Eureka School Store (2nd floor)
Sells convenience items and Manhattan College paraphernalia.

The Quad

Picture 3,500 good friends hanging out in your living room…add some trees: that's the Manhattan College Quad. Central to the Manhattan College campus, the Quad is where you will find concerts, movies and events all year round.

Bookstore

In addition to textbooks, it carries Manhattan College clothing and athletic gear, best-selling books, CDs, DVDs and general school supplies.

Accommodation

Manhattan College consists of five uniquely different co-educational residence halls that offer apartment style, suites, and traditional dormitory living styles.

Dining

A full meal plan is included with your tuition fee. This means you can eat a set number of meals per week at an "all you care to eat" dining facility. There are 4 dining options on campus (see list on the left).

Manhattan College provides fresh, delicious and nutritious meals that reflect food from around the world. Dining is an important part of the living and social fabric at the College. The food you enjoy on campus provides opportunities to connect with friends, stay healthy, boost your energy, and unwind after long days of study.

ATMs

Bank of America ATMs (Automated Teller Machine) are located in the lobby of Thomas Hall and in basement of Leo Engineering Building.

Transportation

Campus security

The Security Department is charged with the responsibility of enforcing all College security regulations. There are 36 officers who conduct foot and vehicle patrols on the campus 24 hours a day.
