If you are a graduate, with a 4 year bachelor degree - then successful completion of the American Diploma for University Entrance, may allow you to progress to one of the following Master's degrees at Manhattan College:
MS Special Education (33 credits)
The program prepares general and special educators to teach mentally retarded, learning disabled, emotionally disturbed, physically disabled, neurologically impaired, and multiply disabled individuals in self contained and inclusive settings. Field experience and practicums provide practical application of the theory and research studied in the classroom.
Program goals:
- Gain a sound knowledge base (content, development, and methodology) that will guide decision making and professional practices.
- Learn the attitudes and skills necessary for reflection which can be used to solve problems.
- Understand that becoming and being an effective practitioner is a life-long developmental process.
Entry requirement:
- Minimum GPA of 3.00
- Bachelor's degree
- Provisional teaching certification

MA School Counseling (36 credits)
The program is designed to prepare students for counseling in pre-school, elementary and secondary schools. Completion of a major paper and a practicum/internship provide the necessary theoretical and practical groundwork for success after graduation.
Objectives of the program:
- Cover advanced topics and develop competencies as a school counselor
- Provide a practice-based knowledge to enhance interpersonal competencies and emotional maturity associated with effective counseling outcomes

- Minimum GPA of 3.00
- Bachelor's degree with preparation in behavioral sciences
- Students with a bachelor's degree who do not have relevant background may be required to take a prerequisite course for admission

MS Mental Health Counseling (60 credits)
The program prepares students to work in mental health settings such as mental health centers, hospitals, and residential treatment centers.
Objectives of the program:
- Train master's level practitioners in assessment and intervention in the medical care setting
- Instill skills through a post degree experience requirement (3000 hours internship), to enable students to provide direct clinical and counseling services to patients in a wide range of medical, research, mental health and independent practice settings
