YOUR BASE ON CAMPUS
About the International Study Center
Your Transition program is based at the PLU International Study Center (ISC), which is well situated at the heart of the campus, in one of the most attractive buildings on site.
Your campus home
The International Study Center is located in Eastvold - a historical landmark at PLU. Built in 1952 as a chapel and music building, it originally hosted world-class artists and drama-music festivals. Today, Eastvold houses the Theatre department and main production stage, but one can often hear music floating through the hallways with the music lessons that still take place within its walls. The ISC suite of offices is located on the second floor, as are the classrooms.
Integration with the University
Language students utilize the Eastvold classrooms throughout the week, but a transition student class schedule is university-style, with locations throughout the campus in the various buildings. This way, even Phase I transition students not yet enrolled in academic credit classes will find themselves crossing paths and becoming involved with a wide range of other PLU students.
The PLU International Study Center is an excellent place to start your academic journey in the United States.
Whether you want to reserve a study room in the library, hang out at the Cave, the campus nightclub, with residence hall mates, get extra help at the tutoring center, or work out in the Athletic Center, transition students have full access to PLU facilities.
