Embassy Pathway Program for international students

Entry requirements for Pathway programs

Personal

  • Aged 17 or older
  • Non-American citizen with principal residence outside the USA

Academic

  • Successful completion of the equivalent of a US secondary education
  • Diploma or acceptable certification of graduation from High School in your home country
  • Proven achievement to meet the University's academic requirements - minimal 3.0 Grade Point Average (GPA)

Graduate English Transition/Master's program applicants must also have:

  • Completion of a 4 year bachelor's degree program from an accredited university.
  • Score of 500 on the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) or 1000 on the GRE 

English Language level

An official TOEFL or IELTS score is not required; you will be asked to complete the Study Group English test to determine your level of English proficiency.

As you reach the equivalent of the TOEFL levels below, you will progress towards your degree:

Required documentation

You must submit the following documentation with your application:

All applicants

  • completed application form
  • bank statement
  • photocopy of passport identification page

Undergraduate applicants

  • official copy of High School transcripts in English
  • written recommendation by a teacher or relative
  • student letter (300 words introducing yourself to the university community)

Graduate applicants

  • official copy of undergraduate transcript in English
  • two letters of recommendation by an employer or academic source 
  • resume
  • 300-word statement of your professional goals
  • Official GMAT or GRE Scores

Transfer applicants

  • official undergraduate record
  • If transferring after one year of university, submit High School transcript in addition to first year university transcript
  • If transferring after second or third year, submit university transcript only 
  • If you are seeking transfer credits, catalog course descriptions are required and must accompany your application

Don't need English language support?

If your English language is already at the level required for entry to a PLU degree, you do not need to take the English Transition Program.
