Program lengthThis depends on the rate of your progress in English Language level, but most students take 1 or 2 semesters to complete the Transition Program.

Qualified international students are eligible for the Study Group scholarship.

Fall 2008:
- Orientation week – August 11 – 15
- Instruction begins – August 18
- Semester ends – December 12
Spring 2009:
- Orientation week – January 12 – 16
- Instruction begins – January 20
- Semester ends – May 13
Summer 2009:
- Instruction begins – May 26
- Semester ends – July 31
Fall 2009:
- Instruction begins – August 17
Entry Requirements
- Aged 17 or older
- Non-American citizen with principal residence outside the USA
- Successful completion of the equivalent of a US secondary education
- Diploma or acceptable certification of graduation from High School in your home country
- Proven academic achievement to meet the academic requirements of the University (minimal 2.0 Grade Point Average (GPA))
English Language Level
You must reach the equivalent of the TOEFL levels below to progress towards your degree:
- TOEFL iBT 32 (CBT 97, PBT 400): Phase 1 of the Transition program
- TOEFL iBT 61 (CBT 173, PBT 500): Phase 2 of the Transition program alongside University credit classes
- TOEFL iBT 79 (CBT 213, PBT 550): Progression to University academic study
Study Structure
- Phase 1 consists of core language skills, content based and language based electives
- Phase 2 is as Phase 1 with the addition of University credit classes and the creation of a Writing Portfolio
Assessment
An internal TOEFL test to assess when your level of English has improved enough for progression to the degree.
