Students studying at the International Study Centre live on campus at the University of Stirling and are fully integrated into campus life at the university.
The University of Stirling really does offer the best of all worlds: a picturesque, peaceful environment, perfect for studying, yet close to some of the UK's most exciting cities; a vibrant and close-knit community where it is easy to make friends, get involved and to feel at home.
The Stirling campus is in a stunning setting. Beautiful, inspiring and modern, there's nowhere else like it in the UK.
The University was founded on the site of the historic Airthrey Estate in 1967. Nestling beneath the Ochil Hills, the campus covers 310 acres and has a beautiful loch (lake) and 18th-century Airthrey Castle at its heart. The views around campus are breathtaking. The University buildings offer exceptionally modern facilities and have been designed to harmonise with their surroundings. All the facilities are a short walk from each other. A central social area on the campus connects the library, eating facilities, shops, Students' Association and the Arts Centre. The on-campus accommodation is just an early-morning walk away from the lecture halls, labs and library.
There is a strong community feel on campus and students are well supported through the clubs, teams and support networks that are available. The police have described the campus as one of the safest in Britain.
The campus is less than 10 minutes by bus or car from Stirling city centre, and the European cities of Edinburgh and Glasgow are less than an hour away. See maps of the University's proximity to Stirling and of Stirling's location in Scotland.
