English Language requirement for undergraduate study

The International Study Centre will improve your English to the equivalent of IELTS 6.0-6.5, the level required for progression to the second year of an undergraduate degree at the University of Stirling.

ELP   Undergraduate Certificate programme   Vacation

English Language Preparation course

You must have an English language level equivalent to IELTS 5.0 to begin the Undergraduate Certificate foundation course. If you require additional language training in order to reach this level, you can first join the English Language Preparation (ELP) course, delivered at the International Study Centre. This intensive course will improve your English language skills up to the required level.

Entry requirements - Equivalent of IELTS 4.0 for one term of ELP
- Equivalent of IELTS 3.0 for two terms of ELP
Course structure: 25 hours per week tuition plus 10 hours per week of self-study
Assessment: Internal test based on the English-Speaking Union's nine-point scale
Progression On successful completion, you progress to the Undergraduate Certificate
