Scholarships for 2010-11
Bolashak scholarship for students from Kazakhstan
Generally the International Study Centre does not offer scholarships to students. However, we are pleased to receive applications from Kazakh students planning to apply for a Bolashak scholarship.
About the “Bolashak” International Scholarship of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan
Since its introduction in 1993, the Bolashak programme, meaning “the future” in Kazakh, has allowed hundreds of Kazakhstan’s brightest students to study abroad at some of the best universities in the world.
Bolashak students study undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in subjects which the Kazakh government has identified as priority areas to enable the country to prosper, such as Business, Law, Science and Engineering. Upon graduation, students return to their home country to work in government service for a period of five years.
The scholarship covers all tuition, insurance and accommodation costs, as well as living expenses and travel costs from Kazakhstan to the UK and home again at the end of the student's degree.
For more information about Bolashak scholarships, including lists of the priority degrees and selection rules, please visit the Centre for International Programmes, Ministry of Education and Science, Kazakhstan.
Bolashak students at University of Surrey International Study Centre
The University of Surrey is one of the recognised foreign University partners of the Bolashak programme. ISC students are guaranteed a place on a University of Surrey degree on successful completion of their academic course. The International Foundation Year allows students to progress to a wide range of degrees at the University, including many of the priority subjects suitable for Bolashak students.
