Pass marks for progression to your degree

Undergraduate degree progression grades

Once you have successfully completed the International Foundation Year, you can proceed directly to your chosen degree at Sussex the following October. In order to progress to the degree programme you will need to obtain an overall grade at the end of the Foundation Year, and a minimum English grade on the Foundation English Skills 2 module. Note that an English competence level of a merit pass is equivalent to 6.5 IELTS, and a credit pass to 6.0 IELTS.

Postgraduate degree progression grades

Once you have successfully completed the Pre-Masters programme, you can proceed directly to your chosen postgraduate degree at Sussex the following October. In order to progress you will need to obtain an overall grade at the end of the Pre-Masters course, and a minimum English grade on the final English Skills 2 module.
