Welcome from the Head of the International Study Centre
I have been involved in international education since leaving university, so know very well the challenges and excitement of University life as well as having an inside knowledge of some of the main subjects we cover here at the ISC. I am also privileged to have a highly qualified and experienced team of teachers and administrative staff (including a Doctor in Astro-physics!), who are here to help you make the progression from foundation level to the degree of your choice. We know exactly what it takes to get you through the foundation year, as well as providing dedicated support to help you with life on the University campus. We have a strong relationship with the departments that you will join for your undergraduate studies, meaning that you can enjoy their events and activities during your foundation year. Some of our law foundation students recently entered a quiz with law degree students and did very well! Sussex is set within the beautiful South Downs, the only university in England to have its entire campus in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is the ideal environment for concentrating on your studies and also allows you to experience the British countryside in all its glory. The facilities on campus are excellent, with our students enjoying a wide range of sporting and other activities. We even have one student hoping to start his own Kung Fu club! You will enjoy living in accommodation with students from the UK and the rest of the world, and being part of a University with thousands of students. The individual attention that we give to our students gives them a real advantage in improving their English as well as their academic subjects. For me, that is one of the best things about the ISC.
