How to apply to the ISC

You can start applying now to start in September for the International Foundation Year and October for the International Year One. For Pre-Masters applications the next start date is April. If you are ready to apply, use our online application form.

If you have any questions before you apply, please use our online enquiry form and let our student enrolment advisers answer any question you might still have.

What happens after you submit your application

An expert Student Enrolment Adviser will support you through the whole process.

Your admission to the International Study Centre will follow these simple steps:

  1. One of our student enrolment advisers will get in touch with you to request copies of supporting documents: academic transcripts, English language test results and passport identification page
  2. We carefully review your application and check you have suitable academic qualifications and level of English language
  3. If your application is successful we will send you a formal offer of a place
  4. To accept your place you need to send us a confirmation payment. Please note if you are under 18 and would like to stay in private accommodation, you must provide your address in the UK before you can confirm.
  5. Upon receipt of your payment we will reserve a place for you in University accommodation
  6. We will send you a Certificate of Enrolment, confirming that you have a reserved place at the ISC and, if you need a visa, a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) reference number. You then need to apply for a visa if necessary
  7. One month before the start of term you need to pay your remaining fees (either in full or your first instalment)
  8. Before the start of your course we will ask you for details of your flight to the UK, and will send you confirmation of your accommodation.
  9. You arrive in the UK the weekend before your programme starts – you will be met at the airport if you have booked a taxi transfer - to settle into your on-campus accommodation

Application deadline

We recommend that you submit your application as early as possible, and at least a month before the start of your course, because the visa application process can cause delays.

However, subject to availability, we do continue to consider applications up to 2 weeks after the start of an academic programme.
