Specialist courses for international studentsCourses at the Wales International Study Centre are especially designed to equip international students with the knowledge and experience needed to succeed at UK universities. All courses are taught by specialists in international education and combine academic and English language training. On successful completion of our courses, students progress on to undergraduate and postgraduate degrees at our host university, University of Wales, Newport and universities across Wales. International Foundation Year
A year of intensive academic and English language training to introduce international students to the British academic system and prepare them for degree level study. Students can choose from two academic routes depending on their chosen degree: Foundation Year students are fully integrated in to campus life at the University of Wales, Newport and on successful completion of the programme are guaranteed progression to an undergraduate degree at one of 11 universities in Wales.

International Diploma in Business, Management and Marketing
A nine month specialist course for international students who want to study degrees in Business, Management and Marketing. The course prepares students for degree level study in the UK and introduces themes in Business studied at degree level. On successful completion of the programme, students are guaranteed fast track entry to the second year of one of the following degrees at the brand new School of Business at the University of Wales, Newport:
Pre-Masters plus MBA or MSc Project Management
A combined programme offered by the Wales International Study Centre and the University of Wales Newport. Students study six months of Pre-Masters preparation at the Wales International Study Centre to equip them with the academic and English language skills required for postgraduate study. Assessment
All students are assessed regularly throughout the Foundation Year to ensure that their progress is on track to achieve the standard required for progression onto their chosen degree. Development is monitored through continuous coursework and specific assessments at the end of each term or module. Students are also required to complete a series of presentations and extended essays as part of the overall assessment. Validation
