International Foundation Year - undergraduate degree preparationThe Foundation Year provides students with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed at degree level. The International Foundation Year is a rigorous and academically demanding three-term course of academic subjects, study skills and English language training, designed specifically to provide international students with an intensive and direct path to degree study at universities in England and Wales. University-style teaching Taught by specialists in university preparation, lessons are taught in tutorials, seminar style classes and larger group lectures. This helps prepare the students for the university classroom environment. Study structureThere are two foundation routes to choose from: Both Foundation routes are modular in structure. There are five core modules common to each route: English Skills 1, English Skills 2, Study Skills, Project Study and Maths. Students also study five specific subject modules, each carefully designed to focus on the academic areas most useful to their chosen degree.

Assessment
All students are assessed regularly throughout their course to ensure that their progress is on track to achieve the standard required for progression onto their chosen degree. Development is monitored through continuous coursework and specific assessments at the end of each term or module. Students are also required to complete a series of presentations and extended essays as part of the overall assessment. |
