Wales International Study Centre: access to world-class universities in Wales
Living on the university campusThe Wales International Study Centre is based on the University of Wales, Newport's Carleon campus. The Caerleon Campus is situated 4 miles outside of Newport city centre. This campus has views over rolling Welsh hills and is close to the beautiful river Usk.
Life outside the classroomJust a short way off campus is the picturesque village of Caerleon with its Roman remains, scenic riverside locations, quaint cottages and annual arts festival. The amphitheatre, which is believed to be the site of King Arthur’s Round Table, is today a setting for theatrical events and celebrations. Interesting buildings and winding side streets, student-friendly residents, plenty of restaurants and pubs means Caerleon has a lot to offer. There is a sports centre on campus, a variety of student-run clubs to join, and an active Students' Union to make sure students have plenty to do in their leisure time. See our sport and leisure page for more information. Transport linksThe M4 motorway can be reached within minutes and the city of Newport is a short bus ride away. See our travel and transport page for more information. |

"I socialise with my room mates and my friends. There are regular nights out on Wednesdays and Fridays and people often have small parties in the accommodation. I am always meeting new people from different places. Each flat has four or five people in it so it is very easy to meet people from different countries, from different courses and they have different ideas and views on everything so it is very interesting." student blog
