At Swansea University we embrace new technology so that our students have the best possible learning experience. ‘Blackboard’ is Swansea University’s online learning environment. It allows students to access lecture notes and other related materials they may need. The Library and Information Services (LIS) not only provides a comprehensive library but also offers academic support through online resources, training and specialised staff for assisting in a particular subject.

We firmly believe that it is our duty as a University to prepare and promote the employability of students. We encourage everyone who studies here to use the support provided by Careers services. Careers delivers sessions in or through your academic department, offers a wider range of central facilities and services, and for graduates there is a special help-line and support group.

The Students’ Union, based at the centre of the University campus, is a democratic organisation offering lots of services as well as advice. These include everything from photocopying to academic representation by elected student officers as well as a professional advice and casework service dealing with a range of problems - from financial and housing matters to consumer protection and course-related difficulties.
