University of Glamorgan
The University has a reputation for strong vocational education in creative industries, health and sport, humanities, business and advanced technology. A world-class sports centre and a new school for Creative and Cultural Industries offer great facilities. No wonder 2,500 overseas students choose Glamorgan every year. Surrounded by the Brecon Beacons and close to stunning beaches there are opportunities for outdoor activities, and it is only 20 minutes from the city of Cardiff.
Pontypridd is situated between the beautiful Brecon Beacons National Park and Cardiff. The original campus sits in Treforest which was once a mining village that played its part in south Wales’ industrial economic boom of the 19th century.
Now the University of Glamorgan forges the academic power that drives today’s modern economy. Surrounded by rolling hills, you are greeted by images of classic Wales – tranquil and beautiful, with easy access to the Brecon Beacons mountain range and opportunities for horse riding, canoeing, rock climbing, waterskiing and more.
The Treforest campus is only 20 minutes from Cardiff. In 2007, the University opened a brand new campus in Cardiff.
The University has an established international reputation and a proud tradition of providing vocational education, since it first opened as a college in 1913. This reputation is confirmed by the 2,500 overseas students who choose Glamorgan every year from over 60 countries.
