How it works...
Embassy Pathways gives you an English language qualification recognised by over 70 universities and colleges around the world, without the need to sit IELTS, TOEFL, or Cambridge exams.
What are the course requirements?
Embassy Pathways courses are for students who have successfully completed high school in their home country, and are ready to start their undergraduate education, or have successfully completed their first degree and want to progress to a Masters degree course. For Pre-Masters students, conditional acceptance will be based on the results and relevance of your undergraduate degree study. Our trusted university partners know that students who complete our courses are well-prepared to succeed in degree study. Because of our international reputation for excellence in English language training, colleges and universities throughout the English speaking world see an Embassy qualification as evidence of solid preparation and commitment.
Not sure where to study yet?
You can start an Embassy Pathway Course even if you haven't yet decided upon your chosen course of degree study. Our academic counsellors will advise you and help with your application after arrival, even if your chosen institution is outside the Embassy pathway network.
What will I learn?
The Embassy Pathway offered at Woodbury University is the American Diploma for University Entrance - an intensive training programme, designed to equip you with the skills that you need to succeed at university. During the course, you will focus on language skills, academic reading and writing, listening, speaking and academic vocabulary. We continuously assess your progress through classwork and assignments as well as mid-term tests and tutorials. On successfully completing the course, your certificate or diploma enables you to progress directly to degree level study.
On arrival, a placement test will define your current language ability. We then evaluate the amount of training you'll need through English language skills assessment and needs analysis.
Throughout your course, we continuously assess your work to make sure you are on track to complete it on time. Mid-term and end-of-term assessments, as well as tutorials and progress reports, ensure that you know how you are progressing.
Upon successful completion of your course, you'll also receive a Certificate of Achievement awarded by our academic board. This outlines in detail the skills you have attained in all areas of language proficiency.
Across the globe there are different educational requirements for university entry, and Embassy Pathways courses vary from country to country to suit the needs of the national system they serve. However, the philosophy behind our methods is consistent worldwide, and the goals and quality of each course allows for easy transfer between programmes. Academic content, number of lessons, and outcomes are common to all courses.
All Embassy Pathways courses are divided into four stages. At Woodbury University you will need to successfully complete Stage 4 to begin a graduate degree at the university.
