This depends on the rate of progress in your English Language level, but most students take 1 or 2 semesters to complete the University Pathway Program.
Entry points
You may enter the program at the start of either the fall semester (August) or spring semester (January).
Entry requirements
See admissions section for academic and English Language entrance requirements. You do not need an official TOEFL score, but you will be tested on arrival to determine your English level.
Course structure
You will have a schedule of between 18 to 26 academic hours of class time per week. The Program is divided into 2 phases:
- In Phase 1 you will take English preparation classes with integrated study skills.

Academic credit
Academic credit courses are only available during Phase 2 of the Program. With permission of your academic advisor, you may take one or two freshman-level academic courses related to your chosen major. This gives you the opportunity to earn three to six academic credits that count towards your bachelor's degree.

Phase 2 of the University Pathway Program is complete when you are assessed to have:
- passed all of your University Pathway Program courses
- completed your academic portfolio
- reached the target English Language level (equivalent of TOEFL iBT 61)

- The Academic Affairs office at Woodbury University makes the final decision of when you are allowed to transition into your degree program.
- You are able to begin full time academic study on an undergraduate degree in January or August.
