The Writing Center

The Writing Center provides free, individual tutoring sessions during which students can work on their writing and other academic projects in any stage, from inception to revision of a finished draft. The Writing Center focuses on writing as a process rather than a product, and coaches strive to help students become better writers, not just improve a single paper or academic project.

Assistance is available both in-person and electronically. The program helps students understand and use the writing process to develop and present their ideas. Through academic interaction with their peers and teachers, the student writers learn how to integrate their personal opinions and experiences into a variety of essays and research papers.

Academic Advising and Peer Mentoring

At Woodbury University, high priority is placed on student advising and it is considered an essential part of teaching. All students are provided with primary faculty advisor who will support and challenge you in making positive career and educational decisions. In addition, professional advisors are available for general academic advising every weekday throughout the semester.

The Academic Peer Mentoring program links first- and second-year students with successful third- and fourth-year students who meet with them weekly to assist them academically. The program is proven to help students succeed academically, improve their grades and achieve their college degree.

Campus investment

New buildings at Woodbury

Woodbury University has recently seen a $27 million campus expansion. This has transformed the Burbank campus to provide:

New facilities for the School of Business
A new home for Woodbury's respected business programs - the 22,000-square-foot state-of-the-art building provides a highly flexible space for classrooms, seminars, teleconferencing, the Fletcher Jones Auditorium, and areas that allow faculty to meet the community.

New facilities for the School of Architecture
The new building supports Woodbury's "problem-based learning" framework, providing class space, small group space for collaborative work, and individual studio space. There is also laboratory space so that students can experience the latest in fabrication technologies such as 3D milling and 3D printing.
