New partners Merrimack College

Study Group is pleased to announce that Merrimack College, Massachusetts is the latest American partner to join our fast growing list of International Study Centres (ISCs) in the USA. As of January 7th 2008, Study Group will have a new ISC, Universities in America Partner and Embassy CES location at Merrimack College. Previously operated by Kaplan, there has been a language school operation on this campus for ten years.

The College is located just 45 minutes’ travel time from downtown Boston, on the beautiful New England campus in North Andover – close to the Atlantic Coast beaches, ski resorts of New Hampshire and historic local towns such as Salem and Newburyport.
This exclusive college has ranked in the US News and World Report top tier of private liberal arts colleges in the North East for the past six years. It offers a wide range of undergraduate course options, including Business, Engineering, Pre-medical, Pre-dental, Computer Science and Fine Arts. Merrimack also offers superb sporting and recreational facilities.

International Study Centre
We will open a Study Group International Study Centre at Merrimack College on August 23rd 2008 in conjunction with the fall intake. We will offer the ESL Transition Program.

The Study Group ISC English Transition Program prepares students both linguistically and personally for the challenges of degree level study in the USA. Suitably qualified applicants can apply with the equivalent of an iBT TOEFL 32 for language training, practical preparation and the opportunity to earn college credits while studying on campus.

Embassy CES English
For Embassy CES, Merrimack College provides a beautiful, typical New England campus with full student access to all campus facilities including a state of the art fitness studio, weight rooms, dance studio, indoor running track, gym, shops, games rooms, cyber cafe and library. The campus also features a professional award winning Concert Theater, a 220 acre campus with numerous outdoor sports facilities.

Initially we will offer standard, intensive and TOEFL preparation courses. The campus will also operate as a Summer Group Centre.

Universities in America
As a UIA partner institution, Merrimack will be our most prestigious Massachusetts location. This selective, private, Liberal Arts College has been named as one of the top ten regional schools by US News and World Report for six years in a row, and is ranked in the top tier in the America's Best Colleges report.

There are 2000 full-time students and a student/faculty ratio of 12:1. As well as a state of the art School of Business and International Commerce (which recently received an alumni gift of $2.5m) the college offers undergraduate civil, electrical and computer engineering, biochemistry, computer science, fine arts, pre -law, pre-dental and pre-medical. The college also offers 16 varsity sports and 15 division II sports.
