Plan International is a global humanitarian, child-focused development organisation operating in 45 countries. It has no religious or political affiliations and has been working to realise the potential of children and their communities since 1937.
Plan works with some of the world's poorest children, in countries where one out of five die before the age of five, and those who survive often go hungry and have no chance of learning to read or write. Plan's projects benefit an estimated 10 million children and their families.
Every child has the right to a primary education
Plan devotes a significant proportion of its resources each year to education, in particular primary education and initiatives focused on Early Childhood Care and Development. A key area of their work is ensuring that by building and equipping schools and training teachers, more children will have access to basic education.
