Study Group introduces a new UK Quarantine Fund to strengthen its employability offering for international students

As part of its comprehensive and holistic employability offering, leading international education provider Study Group is delighted to introduce a new Quarantine Support Fund to help students to study and work in the UK from September.

To help international students to access UK Higher Education pathway programmes in the 2021/2022 academic year, Study Group will make £1,000 available to eligible students from countries on the UK’s current travel “red list” to support with managed quarantine hotel costs. Many international students are making their decisions in the coming weeks and arranging their study abroad travel plans, so the fund is available to learners that confirm their place by July 16 for a programme starting in September, October and November 2021.

As Study Group CEO Emma Lancaster comments:

“Study Group’s UK Quarantine Support Fund has been developed in response to research with our students indicating that learners seeking international higher education opportunities would prefer to quarantine than defer their academic programme. This is because they seek an on-campus study experience to gain the global exposure that supports their future work prospects.

“By launching a new Quarantine Support Fund, we are actively providing additional assistance for students from countries currently on the UK’s travel “red list”, by easing the financial implications of quarantine requirements in the UK.

“The Fund also strengthens Study Group’s broad employability offering, which is designed to help them successfully study and work in the UK, while simultaneously facilitating their progression to higher education and employment post-graduation.”

Study Group’s employability offering includes ‘Prepare for Success,’ ‘Job Ready’ and ‘Virtual Internships.’ These innovative strategic initiatives have been established to enable learners to seamlessly progress to UK universities and gain the key employability skills needed to thrive in a 21st Century workplace:

  • Prepare for Success: An online programme that supports students to acquire the language, life and learning skills to effectively transition from home to overseas study. As a direct result of the programme, 82% of learners enrolled in the course felt sufficiently prepared to start their academic studies.[1]
  • Job Ready: International students can earn while they learn, to develop key transferable skills and gain valuable work experience while they study in the UK, with Study Group’s free employability service.
  • Virtual internships: Study Group has partnered with Virtual Internships Partners Ltd. to offer international students’ online internships and global work placements across 70+ different countries and over 40+ industries. Virtual Internships works alongside over 4,000 companies worldwide to enable thousands of students to professionally develop their skills via remote internships.

Emma Lancaster adds:

“In addition to supporting learners to successfully progress to higher education and employment with our full employability offering, the welfare of our students is of paramount importance to Study Group.

“Over the past year, due to the global pandemic, Study Group has worked exceptionally hard to make sure that robust safety measures are in place across its entire global network of International Study Centres, including in the UK. As such, we look forward to welcoming students to our UK campuses this autumn.

“Furthermore, it is great to see that the UK has invested heavily in a very robust and effective COVID-19 vaccination programme, which all eligible international students who are registered with a GP (General Practitioner) can access.”
