Study Group Head of International Study Centres honoured by the Australian National University

Dr Anthony Cahalan, Head of International Study Centres ANZ

Dr Anthony Cahalan, Head of International Study Centres for Australia and New Zealand, has been appointed an Honorary Professor with the Australian National University. The appointment recognises outstanding leadership by the University and the wider academic community.

The conferral of this academic title is a great honour and acknowledges “individuals who have the professional expertise and experience needed to support the research or creative activity, education and service activities of the University.”

Prior to joining Study Group in 2019, Anthony had a 25-year career in universities in Australia and Canada, including the leadership of universities in Malaysia and Oman. He was a professor for thirteen years and is also highly-respected for his academic contribution to the importance of the creative industries. His own area of specialism is visual communication and typography.

Congratulating Dr Cahalan on the news, Study Group’s Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand said:

“This appointment comes as no surprise, given Anthony’s leadership, dedication and contributions to both ANU and Study Group. As Head of International Study Centres ANZ, Anthony has provided key strategic leadership to our College Directors and is responsible for ensuring the smooth operations of our Australian and New Zealand pathway colleges. Anthony continues to be closely involved in our ongoing response to the impacts of COVID-19 on international students in this region, and his leadership is highly valued as we continue looking towards the future.”
