We are carefully following the advice of the US government and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), part of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), to ensure the health of our whole US community, including all our students and staff.

All our staff and students have been instructed on what to do if they feel unwell. Our staff are ensuring that students adhere to basic hygiene recommendations about regular hand washing and how to look after themselves. Posters about this have been displayed in all our Study Centers and Colleges. Our teams on each campus are trained to manage any health concerns or illness. These teams are available to support all students if they are worried about their own health or if they have any other concerns related to coronavirus.

No, we are not testing students and have no plans to do so unless advised to by US government officials.

The World Health Organization has said that there is no public health requirement or recommendation to use face masks. However if students wish to wear face masks they are welcome to do so. Our staff are ensuring that students adhere to basic hygiene recommendations about regular hand washing and how to look after themselves.

Students often fall ill with everyday colds, coughs and infections – and our staff are well trained to look after any student that is feeling unwell. Given the current situation staff are being extra vigilant.

Please be assured that the US government is well prepared and has put in place infection control measures, and the hospital system is well prepared to manage any further cases should they occur.

If a student falls ill with symptoms that could be coronavirus, they will receive urgent medical attention and will be tested by medical professionals. If the virus is diagnosed, then they will be taken to the nearest appropriate medical facility.

There is different guidance in place for students arriving from different locations, both within parts of China and from other countries, so it is best to keep checking the official advice before travelling.

We are advising all our students currently in the US to remain in the country for the foreseeable future. Whilst the US government has clearly outlined which countries are currently under a travel ban, this guidance can change at a moment’s notice. Therefore to avoid any risk of not being allowed to re-enter the country, we are advising students to remain the US. Anyone who chooses to leave the US to travel home will need to adhere to any US travel advice and restrictions in place at the time they plan to return.

If parents are planning to visit their children in the US, we advise you to first check the travel advice from the US government regarding travel bans and self-quarantine as this may impact the time you can spend with your child.

All our courses are running as normal, and all our Study Centres and Colleges remain open and are operating normally. Our standard cancellation and refund policies will have been provided to you when your place was confirmed. If you want to cancel your place, then you should contact your Student Advisor to discuss your individual situation.
