The University of Strathclyde

The University of Strathclyde has a renowned reputation as one of the largest and best equipped engineering faculties in the UK.

The University's recently launched Technology & Innovation Centre represents a major step forward in partnership between industry and the University. Expert staff are building on existing partnerships to develop photonics and sensors, nanoscience and health technologies as key components of the Centre. They also engage with the public sector and charitable bodies.

If you do not have the required level of English language to start the Pre- Masters, you can take an English for Pre-Masters course at the International Study Centre before you start your academic programme.

For direct entry to our Pre-Masters Programme, we can now accept the following qualifications as part of the English assessment: Pearson, TOEFL, Cambridge Business and Cambridge Main Suite.

The University of Sheffield

The University of Sheffield is internationally renowned for its science and engineering research and education. It attracts more engineering research funding than Oxford or Cambridge (Higher Education Statistics Agency 2017).

The Progression Support team at the International College offers expert university advice to students. With dedicated guidance, 100% of international students who completed the Science and Engineering Pre-Masters programme in 2017 and 2018 gained an unconditional offer to study their Masters degree at the University of Sheffield.

Sheffield's Pre-Masters programme offers routes to over 50 postgraduate degrees across the science, engineering, and medicine, dentistry & health faculties, including advanced engineering disciplines, biological sciences and computer sciences.

Pathway programmes are taught at the University of Sheffield International College. The College is on campus and ideal for university integration. It is a new building specifically built for teaching international students and offers modern facilities and equipment.

Lancaster University

Lancaster University’s Engineering Department is housed in a brand new, award winning building. Engineering postgraduate degree programmes are offered in a range of disciplines with a record of innovative teaching and integration with industry. The University’s research output is in the UK top 10 for quality, with 94% ranked as world-leading or of international excellence (REF2014).

Postgraduate students in science disciplines benefit from links with NHS Trusts and the Division receives financial support from a broad range of grant-awarding bodies, including UK Research Councils, the European Commission, charities and industry.
