Newcastle University and Bellerbys College establish international student progression agreement
Study Group’s Bellerbys College has formalised a progression agreement for their Foundation programme with Newcastle University. It will be the first university partner to offer both guaranteed and conditional progression opportunities for students on a range of pathways, provided they meet the agreed entry requirements.
Alex Metcalfe, Director of International Affairs, Newcastle University says:
“For many years we have welcomed well-qualified and excellently prepared students from Bellerbys College to Newcastle and have worked positively with their staff. We are very pleased to be strengthening our relationship with Bellerbys by becoming a Progression Partner. We look forward to welcoming many more of their high-quality students to our growing international student community.”
Upon receiving their Bellerbys offer letter, students on the following Foundation subject pathways will receive both conditional and guaranteed progression opportunities for relevant courses from Newcastle University:
- Business, Finance and Management
- Chemical Engineering
- Science and Pharmacy
Guaranteed conditional offers for relevant courses from Newcastle University will be available to students on the following subject pathways, when they apply through UCAS:
- Computing
- Engineering
Conditional offers for relevant courses will be available for students on the following subject pathways:
- Art and Design
- Law
- Marketing
- Media
- Social Sciences.

“The quality of the education provision we provide at Bellerbys College is reflected by our university partnerships. Newcastle University is the fifth Russell Group university to sign a progression agreement with Study Group, and the first to offer both guaranteed and conditional opportunities for Bellerbys College students. The other Russell Group universities that have signed agreements with Bellerbys are the University of Birmingham, University of Bristol, Durham University and University of Exeter.”
