Study Group achieves Advance HE accreditation to award Fellowship to academic staff

Leading higher education charity Advance HE has officially accredited global educator, Study Group’s Certificate in International Learning and Teaching, a custom-built professional development programme that will enable the company to award Fellowship (FHEA) to its members of academic staff who successfully complete it. 

Having taught international students for over thirty years, leading global educator Study Group understands that academic excellency starts with people. This new programme marks a significant milestone in the company’s commitment to the ongoing professional development of its educators.

The year-long programme has been specifically designed for educators of international students to achieve Fellowship. It includes ten different learning modules and live sessions, combining asynchronous learning with practical application of theory in the classroom. The Certificate complements the Direct Route to Fellowship which is available for colleagues with more experience.

Advance HE Fellowship is a globally recognised mark of teaching excellence and is core to Study Group’s mission to educate and prepare students to go on to achieve success both academically and professionally.

Developed over the past several years, it is the fruit of collaboration of over 45 Study Group colleagues and led by Study Group’s Provost and Chief Academic Officer Professor Elena Rodriguez-Falcón, one of the very first cohort of 12 Principal Fellows of Advance HE, the highest category of recognition. The programme draws from years of experience of supporting Study Group educators to achieve professional recognition directly from Advance HE and has undergone rigorous internal and external review to ensure its quality and relevance to international higher education. The programme is designed to enhance teaching practice by promoting student-centred, inclusive learning and empowering educators to support meaningful learning experiences for international students.
