Study Group and the University of Waikato launch new International Year One programmes
Study Group and the University of Waikato in New Zealand are delighted to launch two new International Year One programmes to support seamless student progression to the second year of a degree course in the 2021/2022 academic year.
- The International Diploma (Business)
- The International Diploma (Computer Science)
The new International Year One programmes provide students with direct access to year two of a Bachelor’s degree at the University of Waikato in a variety of subject areas upon successful completion, including:
- Business-related degree programmes: enabling students to study at a Triple-Crown accredited business school in New Zealand, ranked among the top 1% of business schools in the world.
- Computing-related degree programmes: equipping students with the skills to access the jobs of the future, with 149 million new digital technology jobs predicted to be created globally by 2025.*
As Alex Chevrolle, Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand at Study Group comments:
“We are proud to partner with the University of Waikato in New Zealand to offer students new opportunities to directly advance to the second year of a range of high-quality degree-level programmes.
“We share the University of Waikato’s commitment to delivering world-class and future-focused learning. By introducing these two new International Year One programmes, we aim to support students to achieve both their academic and career ambitions.”
Flexible digital learning
Offshore international students have the flexibility to start their International Year One programme online until travel restrictions are eased and they can travel to New Zealand and learn on campus.
The structure of the diploma programmes is 12 months, taught over three trimesters full-time. International Year One students will gain a NZQF level 5 qualification, with a total value of 120 credits upon programme completion, enabling them to complete their degree course in the same timeframe as direct entry learners.
All Bachelor's degrees at the University of Waikato include hands-on, work-integrated learning in the last year of study to help the students gain the practical and professional skills needed to fulfil their career ambitions and access global employment opportunities.
